Ingredients

Part 1: 

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (any kind) 

Chana daal/Urud daal (1:1 with urud) tablespoon each

1 tablespoon ginger 

2 teaspoons cumin seeds 

2 teaspoons fennel seeds 

Adjust to taste 

Part 2: 

1 green apple (peeled, cut into small pieces) 

1 carrot or capsicum (pepper - UK Peeps) (cut into small pieces) 

Fresh chillis (to taste, say 2) 

Salt Fresh coriander, chopped finely


Method

Part 1: 

Fry these in vegetable oil. High heat and until a little golden and toasty 

Part 2: 

A little oil, fry until Cool (unless you have the steel grinder) 

In a grinder blend all with salt to taste 

Top with coriander


Additional Notes: This is served alongside vegetable curries and rice, dosa or idli. We also eat it on toast!
